This limited edition mug commissioned by Far Eastern University, is a creation by master Filipino potter Lanelle Abueva. Specializing in handmade stoneware ceramics, she combines traditional techniques with a modern aesthetic. This work of art employs a unique Filipino ingredient – ash from Mt. Pinatubo eruption that devastated the provinces north of Manila in 1991.
The central design element features the Far Eastern University’s sarimanok, the legendary bird of the Maranao people, representing the nationalistic spirit upon which the university if founded.
